Why clean energy systems cannot do without leakage detection
Carbon neutrality is the common goal of the earth. In an era when clean energy is becoming increasingly popular – from electric vehicle charging stations to photovoltaic power generation systems and energy storage systems (ESS) – safety and efficiency are equally important.
These systems involve both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC), and traditional AC leakage protectors cannot detect DC residual current, which can easily lead to detection blind spots and safety hazards.
HYCA series current sensors (RDC modules) can detect AC/DC leakage simultaneously, complying with IEC 62752 and IEC 62955 (RDC-PD) international standards. They are essential safety protection components in the clean energy field.
High-precision intelligent detection
Adopting AC/DC dual-sensitivity technology, it monitors leakage current in real time with a response speed as fast as 8.5ms.
Self-Test function
Before the system starts, it automatically simulates leakage current (typically 6.5mA DC) to verify whether the detection function is normal.
Ultra-low power consumption and long life
Power consumption ≤ 110mW, design life ≥ 20 years, supporting long-term stable operation.
PCB board installation, easy integration
Powered by a single +5V power supply, it can be directly embedded in the main control board to save space and wiring.
Wide temperature and weather resistance, suitable for global use
It can work reliably in an environment of -40℃~+85℃ and is suitable for climatic conditions around the world.

Electric vehicle charging station (AC/DC)
In EV charging systems, the HYCA battery current sensor module can simultaneously detect AC and DC leakage to prevent electric shock and equipment damage, meeting the requirements of the European IEC 62955 safety standard.
In photovoltaic systems, leakage can be caused by humidity or insulation aging. HYCA modules detect leakage in advance to avoid fire risks and ensure safe power generation.
High-voltage DC batteries are prone to tiny leakage currents. The HYCA module can accurately detect these leakages and ensure the long-term safety and stable operation of the energy storage system.
The module is compact and has low power consumption, making it very suitable for electric bicycles, shared electric vehicle charging stations and portable energy storage and charging equipment.
| model | Current range | Core Features | Typical Applications |
| HYCA-10-PD | 32A–40A | High sensitivity, standard RDC-PD module | Home and portable charging stations and converters |
| HYCA-16-PD | 32A | Higher stability and self-checking optimization design | Public charging stations, photovoltaic and energy storage systems |

Both products support fast tripping (8.5–100ms) and high and low-level output signals to meet the safety requirements of AC/DC hybrid systems.
Guardian of system safe operation
The HYCA module not only “detects problems” but also “prevents them.”
Each time it starts, the module performs a self-check to ensure the circuit is functioning properly. If it detects excessive residual current during operation, it immediately outputs a trip signal, quickly powering off the system and preventing accidents.
This means:
Users are more assured
The system is more secure
and enterprise maintenance is easier
Why engineers and system integrators trust HYCA battery current sensor
Plug and play design, quickly integrated into the motherboard
Comply with international IEC standards and are applicable to the global market
Support AC/DC hybrid system monitoring
Suitable for OEMs, EVSE manufacturers, and photovoltaic/energy storage solution providers
Build a safe green energy ecosystem together
Under the global trend of “carbon neutrality” and “electrification”, electrical safety is the foundation of sustainable development of clean energy.
The HYCA series current sensors provide intelligent, safe, and reliable underlying protection for the clean energy industry.
“Intelligent detection, safeguarding green energy security – this is HYCA’s mission.”
