What are the specifications of current transformer ratio?

The current transformer ratio refers to the ratio of the primary side current to the secondary side current, such as 500/5, 250/5, 100/5, 75/5, 50/5, 25/5, etc., such as 500/5 When the primary current reaches 500A, the current induced on the secondary side is 5A, and the ratio of the two is the transformation ratio.

Current transformer primary side rated current standard ratio (such as 20, 30, 40, 50, 75, 100, 150, 2×a/C) and other specifications, the secondary side rated current is usually 1A or 5A. Among them, 2×a/C means that the same product has two current ratios, which can be achieve by changing the connection method of the product’s connecting piece. When connected in series, the current ratio is a/c, and when connected in parallel, the current ratio is 2×a/C. In general, the current transformer ratio of the metering current transformer should be select so that its primary rated current I1n is not less than the load current in the line (i.e., calculate IC). If the calculated load current in the line is 350A, the current transformer ratio should be 400/5. In order to ensure the accuracy requirements of the current transformer use for protection, the transformation ratio can be select larger.

HEYI is a current transformer producer. Years of hard work to become the OEM and ODM supplier of Siemens, Schneider, Fuji Electric, Softbank, LG, Samsung and other companies. Thanks to a strong R&D and design team and production team.
