How to install current transformer?

  • 1.The construction should be carri out according to the drawings. Additionally, the wiring should be correct, with the numbers on both ends of the wires clearly marked, and the numbering range meeting the requirements of the regulations. Moreover, the secondary circuit wires or cables should all use copper wires. The cross-section of the current transformer loop wire should not be less than 2.5mm², and the cross-section of the voltage transformer loop wire should not be less than 1.5mm².
  • 2.Furthermore, the first terminal block of the current transformer outlet should use special current terminals. Any secondary winding not use by the current transformer should be short-circuit and ground at the terminal board. It’s also essential to ensure that there are no joints in the secondary circuit wires in panels and cabinets, and no joints in the middle of control cables or wires. If joints are necessary, they should be transitionally connect through the terminal box of appropriate length.
  • 3.Additionally, it’s imperative to maintain the correct polarity of the current transformer and ensure that the phase sequence and phase difference comply with the design and regulatory requirements. Due to the wiring of the transformer for differential protection, the current phasor diagram of both arms must be measure before being put into operation to check the wiring correctness.
  • 4.Lastly, since the arrangement of secondary circuit wires should be neat and beautiful, it’s crucial that the connecting screws between the wires, electrical components, and terminal strips do not have loose connections, and that the distance between the wire binding handles and the clamping points meets the requirements of the regulations.
