Distribution cabinet introduction
A power distribution cabinet refers to an electrical product that plays the role of switching, controlling or protecting in the power generation, transmission, distribution, power conversion and consumption of the power system, with a voltage level of 3.6kV~550kV, mainly including high-voltage circuit breakers, high-voltage disconnectors and grounding switches, high-voltage load switches, high-voltage automatic reclosing and sectionalizers, high-voltage operating mechanisms, high-voltage explosion-proof distribution devices and high-voltage switch cabinets. The high-voltage switch manufacturing industry is an important part of the power transmission and transformation equipment manufacturing industry, and occupies a very important position in the entire power industry.
A power distribution cabinet refers to a low-voltage switch cabinet with all sides closed except the mounting surface. The electrical components such as switches, protection and monitoring control of this cabinet are all installed in a closed casing made of steel or insulating materials, which can be install against the wall or away from the wall. There can be no isolation measures between each circuit in the cabinet, or it can be isolate by a ground metal plate or insulating plate. Usually the door is mechanically interlock with the main switch operation. In addition, there is a protective table-type switch cabinet (i.e., control console), on which the control, measurement, signal and other electrical appliances are install. The protective switchgear is mainly use as a power distribution device at the process site.
The current transformer is a commonly use electrical equipment in the power distribution cabinet. In the combination process of the power distribution cabinet, it plays its role. Simply put, the current transformer converts a large current into a small current for measurement and protection. For example, 300/5 converts a large current of 300A into a small current of 5A. Generally speaking, 300A is call the primary current and 5A is call the secondary current. Why is it convert to 5A? This is the industry requirement based on the instrument measurement requirements.

People use Current transmitter. Why do people use transmitters, in the chillers the air compressors, the generators and the IoT systems? In systems I see chillers, in commercial buildings air compressors in factories and generators, in data centers. The chillers, the air compressors and the generators all have one thing in common. In short devices… Continue reading Why Current Transmitter Matter in Chiller, Air Compressor, and Generator
